Regulations For Educating Your Child At Home Using A Florida Private School Home-Based Program

Notify The School District
Parents must simply enroll their child in a Florida private school home-based program. Each private school is required to annually report enrollment information to the Department of Education.
If you need to withdraw your child from a Florida public school be sure to first enroll your child in a private school program. Then notify the school that you will be withdrawing your child before you do so.
Hours Of Instruction
The state requires each Florida private school home-based program to report the number of days that school is in session which must be at least a minimum of 180 days.
The state does not require Florida private school home-based programs to teach a specific list of subjects.
The state requires Florida private schools to keep attendance records and copies of each students certification of school-entry health and immunizations.
The state does not require Florida private school home-based programs to test their students.
